About the Artist

The art courses in Shen Na's college were associated with Western culture. Shen Na started her artistic career by painting female subjects from the modern society which made her successful among chinese and international audience.
Shen Na started to reconnect with traditional Chinese culture by studying Chinese history since she moved back to Beijing in 2008. Then, she started series of experiments to explore new styles in her works where the subjects in were less and less present. Recently, she depicted only sceneries with a traditional touch. She no longer focuses on expressing interpersonal feelings of love, but her art is now more oriented towards peaceful scenaries of existence.
